2008 OSMM Healing Retreats

Our community strives to offer a diversity of spiritual help that cannot be easily found in one place—powerful, personal, one-on-one help, and a holy priest for confession, sacraments, and teaching—all just one hour from St Louis. Can't join us for the whole weekend? Come for a full day of spiritual nourishment on Saturday!

We are pleased to announce a new and inspired format for our healing retreats!
This format emphasizes helping retreatants realize the plan that God has for their lives. God has created each of us in his image and likeness so that we could have communion with him. Although this communion has been broken through selfishness and sin, Jesus came to heal us and to restore us to communion—to relationship—with the Father. We pray that our new retreat format will more effectively enable those who attend to allow the Lord to heal and restore the brokeness and division caused by sin, empowering them to go out into the world to help others.

August 22,23,24 INNER HEALING THROUGH OUR LADY OF RECONCILIATION

Fr. Joe Whalen, a LaSalette Missionary priest, is a champion of the sick, the elderly, families, drug addicts, and alcoholics. He has conducted many healing services worldwide, and his St. Raphael Ministry distributes holy healing oil internationally. Fr. Joe discovered his own vocation late in life, after the Lord brought deep healing from many years spent struggling with alcoholism. He was ordained in 1989, and at the age of 80 is a very active priest — a more uplifting, devout priest you will not find.

Fr. John Titus is the pastor of St Charles Borromeo Parish and chaplain to the Newman Center at Eastern Illinois University, both in Charleston, Illinois. He draws souls closer to Christ with his genuine, sensitive, and approachable style, and with the depth of his love for Our Lord and Blessed Mother.

This retreat is FREE OF CHARGE! You can simply make a freewill offering during the weekend. Please contact Debbie or Vanessa to sign up, and be sure to LIST EACH ATTENDEE'S NAME!

September 5,6,7 HEALING THE HEART'S WOUNDS

Fr. Stephen Valenta, a Conventual Franciscan priest, has spent over 45 years in pastoral care giving counsel and direction to thousands. He has been in both radio and television ministry, served as a university chaplain, and founded Mount St. Francis Hermitage in Maine, New York, where he practiced what he preached for 17 years. Fr. Valenta also served as the English-speaking confessor for pilgrims at the Vatican for a time, as well as being assigned to St. Francis' hometown of Assisi in Italy. He is now based in Rensselaer, New York, where he heads up his special "Hearts to heart" Ministry, preaching to countless people throughout the world with the primary purpose of bringing unity and love by praying with the heart. Fr. Valenta will speak about developing a heart relationship with the Holy Spirit, because that is when the healing comes.
